Here is a list of all known case numbers for Omega Constellations. It is sorted by calibre number rather than case number as I have found this manner of indexing to be quite useful.
I use this as a quick reference for correct case numbers. There are an additional 75 listings in this register that do not appear in the Omega Vintage Database, all of which have been confirmed as correct.
Date of initial release and other information is included.
Please click here for a pdf file of the register.
Nice handy table, Desmond!
ReplyDeleteCan we throw something in there about the 168.025, of which we both own an example?
Take care,
Evan (gatorcpa)
Hi Evan
ReplyDeleteSure can - Ive got a couple of others I need to add too
Cheers

I found no mention of the 198.0028, a 70s Connie F300, with a TV shaped dial and integrated bracelet. I have only ever seen two others on the net, one was solid 18K gold, including the face. Mine is stainless steel with a brown 'sunburst' face. A more '70s watch you couldn't hope to find ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Niall
ReplyDeleteIf you can send a pic of the watch, including caseback (inner) I'd be happy toinclude it in the list. The Omega database isnt complete and your F300 is the first one Ive heard of \\Cheers
Desmond
Hi Desmond, would you be willing to take a look at a couple of pictures of a Connie I'm thinking of buying?
ReplyDeleteB.t.w. great informative blog!!!
Kind regards, Mike Rosenberg
Hi Mike,
ReplyDeleteYes, send me your considered appraisal of the watch and I'll see if I concur.
Just click on the email link in About Me
Cheers
Desmond
Desmond,
ReplyDeleteWould you happen to have the same type of list for the Seamaster Series? I am partial to that line.
Thanks,
Craig
Hi Craig,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately no. Was a lot of work to compile the Connie list and a Seamaster one would be too high a mountain to climb :)

Hello,I am writing to ask for a little information,or to plea for a little advice as to where I might locate the information I seek.
ReplyDeleteThe history on the omega is fascinating.I have a solid 18kt gold vintage omega ladies watch that I would like some information on,I can provide detailed pictures if you are interested in taking a peek.
Thank you very much
Amber stephens amber-stephens@hotmail.com
I am not very knowledgeable on womens Omegas Amber.
ReplyDeleteBest idea is have the case opened and take a pic of dial, movement and inner case back where there will be numbers stamped.
Then you can match the pics to information that will be on the Omega database (or at least in most instances it will)
Once you have the info, scroll down the rh side of this blog to the link to the Omega database. You will, have to join but its free.
If you have any further problems, just email me.
Cheers Desmond
I am looking at a Pie Pan Constellation 14393 61 SC. It has a 561 in it with serial number starting with 17. It is described as a 1959 although the numbers indicate it is a 1960. The case is 14K gold. I just want to make sure everything checks out before dropping the money on it. I would hate for it to be fake or non matching parts.
ReplyDeleteSounds right to me. This model was produced from about 1959 - 1962' and as long as the serials date it in that range it should be ok
ReplyDeleteCheers
Desmond
I'm looking at a Constellation NON PIEPAN with case # 14393 61 SC. The 561 mvmnt. # is 19,070,xxx which indicates 1962 manufacture. Does this combination sound right, or should i stay away?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Margpres
Serial number and case 14393 just makes the grade as these models were phased out in 1962.
ReplyDeleteShould be be ok
Cheers
desmond
I have what i think is an Omega Constellation. Case marked 14393 possibly 9 and then sc. I think SS with gold dial insert. Calibre 561. marked as 24 jewel. another number 17602436. Your site and Omega sites say this watch is Gold, OT 14393. My watch is mixed metals. How do i clarify or check its origins.
ReplyDeleteAh, Yes there are two entries, and the second entry KO/CK indicates metal content - CK meaning gold plaque over stainless steel.
ReplyDeleteThe 17 million number is the serial number of the movements which indicates production of the movement in 1959. IN respect to numbers, everything matches up.
Cheers
Desmond
The case has another mark GB. Is this an indication of a watch made under licence by Omega UK. Does this detract from any value.
DeleteRegards
Simon
The stamp may read CB which is a Centrale Boites (casemaker) stamp. CB was owned by the Brandt family who were also the family that created Omega.
ReplyDeleteSo CB is a swiss case and thus quite authentic.
Cheers
Desmond
Can anyone please tell me if these models are authentic?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMEGA-SEAMASTER-AUTO-DAY-AND-DATE-MANS-WATCH-BLUE-DIAL-/250860115946
I bought one like this from the same seller on ebay. My watch had the following description:
Steel hands with white insets and a steel sweeping second hand
Crystal in excellent condition
Movement:-- AUTOMATIC OMEGA movement signed Omega Swiss with Logo
Cal :- 1022 with 23 jewels Movement No:-40283720
Functions:--Day/Date at 3 with quick set
Crown:---Omega crown.
Case:-- Stainless Steel case is in good condition with the Omega Logo on back
Inside back case is OMEGA WATCH CO. FAB.SUISSE. SWISS MADE with logo
Case Number:- 166.0889 366.0446
Strap:--Omega stainless steel strap with the Logo on the outside and signed Omega and logo on the inside
Length 9 inches including the watch
Measures:-- 36mm across without the crown 40mm lug to lug approx
They certainly werent faked.
DeleteDial has been refinished in a more classic style but it looks ok to me
Cheers
Desmond
I have a Pie Pan Constellation 14393 9 SC. It has a 561 in it with serial number starting with 20. The case is stainless steel with gold logo Observatory. I want to know if the watch is authentic.
DeleteThanks
Ovidiu V.
I would be expecting a 14393 to have a serial number from late 17 million or 18 million or at the outset a 19 million number as the models were superceded in 1962
DeleteMost of these models I see are 18 and 19 million serials
click on about me and use the email tab if you have some pics you can share
Hi Desmond
ReplyDeleteFantastic blog I have spent far too many enjoyable hours reading it all
I am looking at a Constellation NOS but cannot find any other dial that looks like this one
any help or advice would be appreciated on email merc220d@gmail.com
Thanks in advance David

A coupleof people have asked me about this one David. Dial is genuine, but hands are not - minute hand is farr too long and should just over-reach the minute index. Crown is wrong and not even the one now recommended by OMega as a replacement for the decagonal crown.
DeleteThe model is a 14381 which is slightly smaler in dial than later models.
Price, well, I think 2400 Euro is a little over the top
Thank you
ReplyDeleteI will keep looking
Best regards David
Hi Desmond
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you can help me - I am talking to a dealer about a watch which seems on the Omega database to have a different movement. I believe him to be a reputable dealer and he assures me he is only buying from three experts. It's a case no 168.029, but has a 653 movement. Here's a link if you are able to have a quick look. the database says that should be a 751 and the case is 1967, whereas the serial I understand to be late 1969. Do you think this can be right?
http://www.sonningvintagewatches.com/catalogue/omega/1969-steel-omega-constellation-auto-date-pie-pan-dial-gents-vintage-watch/
Grateful for any advice you can give.

Tim
Hi Tim,
DeleteYou just caught me doing my nightly responses to posts, so you don't have to wait long for a response.
Whatever so-called 'experts' appraised this watch Tim should hang their heads in shame. Sorry, but everything, and I mean everything, is wrong with this watch. Firstly 168.029 as you correctly stated should be powered by a cal 751 day/date movement and not a non-chronometer date only calibre 563. Secondly, no pie pan dial ever sat in a 168.029 case. Thirdly the pie pan dial has been refinished quite incorrectly and badly. Fourthly, the hands on this watch are incorrect for both a pie pan and a cal 751.
In truth, it is one of the most shameless frankenwatches I have seen in a long time and is only suitable for parts.
Run a thousand miles away from this watch!
Cheers
Desmond
Desmond- thank you very much for confirming that- and for responding so quickly. I will give it a wide berth and advise the seller accordingly...worse than I had imagined!
DeleteBest
Tim
Desmond,
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog and have to say that I am impressed with the wealth of information available to buyers. I am interested in an Omega Constellation that is said to have a caliber 564, 24 jewel movement. The inside case has a number of 168019 and the serial number is 26,330,359. Problem is, when I used your resources, I could not match up the case number with this particular caliber of 564...what gives? Thanks.
John
Hi John,
DeleteYes, it doesn't match up because a 168.019 should be powered by a cal 751 rather than 564. 26 mill serial dates the piece to around 1968.
So, a couple of things may have happened here. Case back was worn or damaged and someone swapped a 168.017 case with the case back on the watch now, or a complete case change occurred. Either way I wouldnt touch the watch because it could be even more of a frankenwatch than we think, the movement perhaps coming from a different case altogether.
Regards
Desmond
Desmond,
ReplyDeleteIf you could do me one favor and look at Ebay Item No. 160889971595, "Mens NICE 1968 Omega CONSTELLATION 24j Automatic Chronometer Vintage Swiss Watch
4x Sign, Stainless & 14K Bezel Ring," and let me know what you think of this watch. The seller is very reputable and I have bought watches from him in the past. Thanks..
John
yep, wrong caseback at the very least.
DeleteComments as above apply
I have a Constellation 18kt gold ref. 168005/6 caliber 562 serial nr. 21895832. The seller said it was sold in 1965. Is it correct?
ReplyDeleteA 21 million serial number dates production to 1964 and so 1965 is about right.
DeleteI would expect the calibre to be either a 561 or 564 as cal 562 was normally not used in Constellations. It may be worthwhile seeking an extract from Omega Museum just t confirm the caliber is correct
Cheers
Desmond
Can you say somthing about this one:
ReplyDeletehttp://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261200783303#ht_500wt_1288
Is it fake?
In the inside of the back cover there isn't serial number
The case is highly suspect. Notice that in this purported model 168.005 that the observatory roof is not a brickwork roof. This is an immediate 'red flag'
DeleteI note that the seller does not show a pic of the inner case back - another red flag.
So it is highly possible that the case is 'pinchbeck', a bronze type metal that is made to look like gold.
I would avoid this watch at all costs until the inner case back can be verified. If the seller has sent you a pic of the inner case back that does not have the French Eagle and Omega markings then you can be assured it is not genuine.
Cheers
Desmond
Hi Desmond. Was the Omega DeVille ever linked with the Omega Speedmaster?
ReplyDeleteRegards, Brian
Hi Brian,
DeleteNo the Speedmaster has always been an independent sub-brand and in a different class to De Ville. Speedies are tool watches and the De Ville brand is now luxury dress.
Regards
Desmond
Hi Desmond, what a great job you are doing with this historic model of Omega, the Constellation. I got myself yesterday this really beautiful 1970 Omega Constellation Chronometer, 1001 movement. great shape, original GREEN dial, Rectangular shape.... original crown and buckle. Got it in a very nice vintage watches shop I discovered, near the Mont des Arts... very very interesting. It is a Model 168.028 with 1001 caliber, which I see doesn' t exactly match your matrix. Can it be added or can you verify ? it is a kind of rare model, for the shape and the color of the dial but it should be a very original model. ! how can I post or send you a picture ?
ReplyDeleteYour right I dont have that number, as I have it down as a 368.847 (or 0847)
DeleteThis TV shaped model came with an integrated bracelet most of the time and on the case back when you open it you'll probably see the marks 168.028 - 368.0847
So the case body was styled as 168.028 and the ensemble as 368.0847.
I should probably make a note of that under that listing.
Thanks for raising this point.
Regards
Desmond
Hi Desmond
ReplyDeleteAny thoughts on the case number 120609?
https://omegaforums.net/attachments/dscf6259-jpg.229445/
It's from an 18k Constellation, Cal 501. You can see more of the watch here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-constellation-deluxe-2852-3-cal-501-incredible-condition.37559/
Cheers!
The above number is a left-over from an earlier numbering system, whereas the 2852 stamp indicates the case and model number.
DeleteCheers
Desmond
Looking at the pictures the model number is 2853 the DeLuxe version and the watch is in superb condition.
DeleteThe case number in the previous Omega numbering system differed and were well advanced of the above number, leading me to think that the number is a casemakers number and not Omegas.
Cheers
Desmond
Sir kindly advise if this is original omega constalation with a magnifying type date. Cal 561, reference number 168.004 only. (their is no ST 168.004). My email sir ignacius_k69@yahoo.com Many thanks and God bless
ReplyDeleteJust click on the 'About Me' on the RH side and click through to the email. Attach some pictures and I will have a look at the watch

Hi Desmond,
ReplyDeleteI am fairly new to this world but would really appreciate som expert input in regards to a 18k gold constellation. Does the reference number 167005/6 5C-62 add up?

Best let me have a look at some pics. Click on my profile link and click through to an email.

Hi Desmond,
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fascinating. I would like to know what years the cross hairs were applied to the Omega Constellation Automatic Chrono. I have a 2852 -3 SC ser#16303415, SS with arrow hour makers. I never questioned authenticity, but after reading comments here I'm concerned. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you. Joanne
Cross-hairs were a feature of Constellations from late 1952 until the last versions of the 168.005 in the later Sixties.
DeleteThere were indeed cross-hairs on the 2852, one of a number of dial variations.
Cheers
Desmond
